Akrapovic exhausts are used by race teams in MotoGP, Superbikes, AMA Supersport and 600 Supersports.
They are widely considered one of, if not THE, top aftermarket exhaust manufacturer in the world. Previously many of the exhaust systems were simply too expensive for the average road rider, however the recent introduction of the SP range has bought Akrapovic performance into range for most of us

Akrapovic's entry-level performance silencers. Intended to fit standard pipework with no mechanical modification required. While the bolt-on range doesn't offer the dramatic performance increases of the full Akrapovic systems riders can still expect significantly enhanced sound and an improved aesthetic.
Performance silencers from Akrapovic designed in parallel line to the Bolt-on series and sharing many of the same attributes.
They say ......
"The Bolt-On and Slip-On systems were designed to be cost-effective, in order
to deliver a modest increase in performance, superior quality, aesthetic
pleasure and an instantly recognizable sound. And it carries the word-famous
Akrapovic brand name!"
We say ....
"If brand is the most important thing to you then this is the least expensive way to get an Akrapovic badge on your bike. If, however, you can see past the lure of the red scorpion you can find replacement end-cans from other manufacturers offering the same power gains and comparable build quality for 50 notes less."
The SuperSport is the entry-level full system from Akrapovic, offering a series increase in performance and unmistakable improvements in sound quality. The SuperSport line will improve HP and torque throughout the rev range, generating a smoother application of power. Intended for the everday rider who wants the best out of their bike.
They say ......
"The Supersport is intended for customers who expect sports performance, but not the extreme racing characteristics of our race-replica exhaust systems. The major advantage of the SuperSport line is that it is intended for everyday use, but don't think that the performance of the system suffers as a result!"
We say ....
"The SuperSport is line is a complete replacement system, which means considerable power gains (in the region of 5-8% for most bikes) and weight saving but also a considerable investment (prices from around £550 for the slightly cheaper SP series). End cans are a choice of titanium or carbon-fibre, the carbon looking superb in glossy black. Akrapovic claim rejetting isn't required when fitting the SuperSport but to see the most benefit from the upgrade right through the rev range we'd recommend it"
Akrapovic's Racing full systems represent the top-end of aftermarket performance exhausts as used by many teams at the cutting edge of motorcycle racing. The performance gains generated by fitting an Akrapovic Racing system are among the highest a rider can expect but these come at a relatively high price. Typically the preserve of racers, road riders wanting extreme performance from their superbike are stumping up the cash for the full Racing system in their quest for maximum power gains.
They say ......
"The Racing line is the one which quickens the pulse of motorcyclists. It is developed and tuned especially for each specific model of motorcycle, without regard to the level of racing character of the bike. It is also intended for race-hardened riders who are used to trying to ride the perfect line on the race course."
We say ....
"Like Micron, Akrapovic have used hydro-forming on their Racing lines to develop bespoke shaped pipework which has a noticeable impact on gas flow. As the 'Racing' tag suggests, most of the considerable power gains to be had from these full systems are at the top end of the rev range, so if thats where you need your extra horses these systems are worth a look. For general road riding though you'd be hard push to justify the £800+ price tag"
